– the Partnership In late 2001, we were invited by OVP Ventures, a valued VC
client with whom we had succeeded on earlier liquidity events in the Wireless
Software/eCommerce space, to compete for Foundstone’s search business. The
company was just entering the phase where it needed to recruit
product-oriented executives to achieve its real potential, which is where we
typically get retained, acting as trusted partner and advisor to early stage
growth companies. We won the assignment, and worked intensely for 3 years
to help the company reach its potential, right on through to a profitable
exit, when we were acquired by McAfee (NYSE – MFE) in late 2004. In
addition to executive and board recruiting we function as key consultant to
the CEO on issues regarding organizational development. We also worked industry events with
the client (RSA 2002 & 2003), helped with partnership development,
media/positioning, and competitive intelligence. Completed
